Schoolyard Bullies Mar Sweet 16th

June 15, 2006—Former POZ cover girl Raven Lopez spent her 16th birthday yesterday protesting her Bronx high school’s failure to take action after students harassed her about her HIV status. She had allegedly been subjected to taunts all year before a student screamed, “Raven has the monster!” across a crowded lunchroom this week, referring to HIV. Lopez plans to switch schools next year.
