Californians Can Sue Untested Infectors
July 5, 2006—The California Supreme Court ruled this week that people with HIV can sue their infectors, even when an infector is not aware of having the virus. In the dissenting opinion, Justice Carlo Moreno wrote that the verdict could encourage lawsuits brought out of vengeance and might violate the state’s sexual privacy laws.
