Irish Blood Case Won’t Go to Court

July 27, 2006—There will be no lawsuits after all against U.S. manufacturers of blood clotting products responsible for infecting Irish hemophiliacs with HIV in the 1980s and early 1990s, the Irish government announced. The Irish Hemophiliac Society expressed outrage over the decision, which was in response to the group’s own 2003 request for such a suit.
