In June, Washington, DC’s AIDS Action Council asked Viagra pitchman and First Gentleman wannabe Bob Dole to sign on to its push to put condoms on prime time. “We hope you agree that there is a dangerous contradiction in TV network policies that allow Viagra ads but ban ones for condoms,” the group’s exec, Daniel Zingale, wrote in a letter to the elder statesman. “Imagine if networks aired ads for faster motorcycles but banned ads for helmets.” Dole had not RSVPed the invitation by press time.
