Bob Dole has not been tested for HIV since receiving a transfusion in 1981, when the virus was rampant in the blood supply. According to The New York Times, Dole has agreed to a test if elected. But if positive, he may have to look for another job. Rep. Robert Dornan’s provision in the 1997 defense bill mandates the discharge of all service members with HIV. No exception is on record for the Commender-in-Chief. Dole supported that measure and scored a dismal 33 percent in AIDS Action Council’s report card for the 104th Congress. Oops!
