Take your meds and quit whining

My wife and I were both recently diagnosed positive, in May 2006. My CD4 count was 20 and hers was falling fast at 308. We both started taking meds in July. In just three months, my CD4 count is up to 486, and in two months hers was 509. Some of the side effects have been hard to deal with, but nowhere near as hard as DEATH.

So, people, take your meds and quit whining. The alternative is much worse. All I read about and hear at group meetings is the “feel sorry for me, I can't take my meds because the side effects are so bad” bullsh*t.

I take my meds every day at the same time regardless of the side effects (dizziness, upset stomach, hives). Do you think cancer patients going through chemotherapy don't have side effects? Every life-threatening disease has hard treatments to go through. If you want to live, take your meds and be glad that you have them to take!
