It's rather ironic that I chose a Medicare choice plan because of the excellent drug coverage...before the Bushies f****d it all up. Where does the president come off in a speech saying it's the best thing out there?
Last year, before Medicare Part D was in the picture, prices were at unbelievable tolerable levels. Now with Part D, I must shell out $1989 for a 90-day supply of Reyataz/Norvir/Ziagen/Epivir. There's no way I can afford that co-pay and Texas ADAP requires you to switch.
My ex in Houston has been on Kaletra mono-therapy taking two twice a day. Surprisingly, Kaletra is but $58.40 for a 90-day supply. I am undetectable and have 433 T cells. My ex started with less T cells and a 150k viral load.
To go back in time and have no Medicare Part D would be living a fantasy, but at least I would have continuity of my meds, which have turned me undetectable for the first time in 5 years.

I just wanted to say that I love the new Medicare Part D coverage... Enrollment was easy, and I have had no real difficulties getting my prescriptions filled, and at substantial savings.
Before Jan. 1st, my Medicare Plus provider did not include any AIDS meds in their formulary, so I was buying all my AIDS meds myself, and in the process running up a considerable amount of debt... The plan is saving me about $16,000.00 a year, not to mention keeping me out of eventual bankruptcy. And now I can at least rest easy knowing that I will not have to choose between keeping my house or buying meds.
