My doctor was not watching me

My name is Mel and I want to give my input on meds that have severe side effects. I am a black guy and meds often react differently in black patients than whites. Two and half months after going on new meds, my blood sugar was over 600 and the doctors were going to hospitalize me to get the blood sugar under control. I was giving myself insulin 4 shots a day. I hated that. It should have never happened. My doctor was not watching me closely enough. I tell you this because black folks need to be aware and always advocate for themselves.
