South Carolina will receive more than $26 million in federal grants for HIV and AIDS treatment, including money for low-income individuals and families. Part of the money will go towards eliminating the state’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program wait list, which, as of March, had 463 people waiting for HIV medications--the most in the country.
