Clinic workers in South Africa, where the rate rape is famously high, often refuse to provide victims with antiretrovirals if the rape hasn’t been reported to the police, according to a survey by The National Working Group on Sexual Offenses. One out of three government health practitioners did not consider rape to be a serious medical condition.
