South Carolina lawmakers increased the state’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) budget from $500,000 to $4 million last week, overriding a veto from Governor Mark Sanford. The funds will help get hundreds of people off the state’s 362-deep ADAP wait list, where there have been three deaths in the past year among those seeking treatment.
