A funding gap of $14 million is threatening the health of HIV-positive people who receive assistance through Florida’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP),  reports. State officials fear their ADAP funding could run out of money by mid-February. Tom Liberti, chief of the HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Florida Department of Health, said his department is exploring all of its options, which might include an agreement with major drug manufacturers to supply drugs to tide the program over until the new funding year begins April 1.
