Los Angeles AIDS Walk Raises Nearly $3 Million
The 26 Annual AIDS Walk held Sunday, October 17, in West Hollywood, California, raised nearly $3 million for the treatment and care of those living with HIV/AIDS, reports ABC 7 news. Almost 30,000 people, including elected officials and celebrities, walked the 6.2 mile route despite the damp weather. Since 1985, the event has raised more than $66 million for AIDS Project Los Angeles, one of the largest nonprofit AIDS service organizations in the country.
