AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) held its second annual art auction, Art Project Los Angeles, June 25 at Bonhams and Butterfields auction house.

The red carpet captured celebrity guests looking their best, including author Jackie Collins (Poor Little Bitch Girl) and actors Pauley Perrette (NCIS), Eden Sher (The Middle) and Michael Steger (90210). Inside, the auction featured works by iconic artists such as Picasso, Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, Keith Haring, Robert Longo and David Hockney. Additional auction items included guitars autographed by musicians Alex Band, Anjulie, Melissa Etheridge, Jennifer Lopez and Orianthi.

“The burdens of a sagging economy have weighed heavily on our clients, who rely more than ever on APLA’s most basic services,” said APLA executive director Craig E. Thompson. “Funds raised tonight will give help to those in our community who need it most. I’m thrilled to see so much enthusiasm and support behind the fight to end AIDS.”

The auction raised more than $300,000 to benefit APLA programs.
