Advocates Want Better Federal Policies to End AIDS in America
In advance of the XIX
International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012), AIDS in America, a coalition of national
and regional advocacy groups, is calling for better federal policies and leadership
to end AIDS domestically, according to an AIDS in America statement. The
coalition wants a change in leadership, more funding and more scientifically based
policies. In particular, advocates emphasize the need to support the Affordable
Care Act; to maintain Medicare, Medicaid and the Ryan White CARE Act; and to
press Congress for more funding for the National HIV/AIDS Strategy.
