Bertrand Audoin to Lead International AIDS Society

The International AIDS Society (IAS) has appointed Bertrand Audoin as its executive director, according to an IAS statement. Mats Ahnlund, acting executive director, will return to his role as deputy executive director. Audoin was previously the general director of Sidaction, a French HIV/AIDS nonprofit group. He also was coordinator of the “Fonds de dotation Pierre Bergé” committee for HIV/AIDS programs at the Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent Foundation. Audoin will begin his new role at IAS in February 2011, but he will continue to assist Sidaction with fund-raising until April 2011.
