Canada Denies Deportation Appeal of HIV-Positive Man
The Supreme Court of Canada has denied the deportation appeal of an HIV-positive man from Zimbabwe, the Edmonton Journal reports. The man was seeking an appeal on the grounds that his life would be at risk because he would not receive proper health care services in his country. The case would have required the court to decide if sending a refugee back to a country with insufficient health resources amounted to a death sentence.
