An error at the Med Peds Clinic in Fort Collins, Colorado, resulted in children receiving flu shots from non-sterile syringes, 9news.com reports. Some of the children received their second dose of the vaccine from syringes that had been used to vaccinate other children. While the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has stated that the chances of infection are slight, the department has recommended that all of the affected children be tested for blood-borne illnesses such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.
