DC to Quiz Doctors About Local HIV/AIDS Epidemic
Health officials in Washington, DC, will issue private physicians e-mail quizzes to test their knowledge on the district’s HIV epidemic, The Washington Post reports. More than 4,000 doctors are receiving the 15-question exams that will ask them to rank the parts of the city and age groups with the highest HIV/AIDS rates. Quizzes will also determine physicians’ awareness of local and federal screening recommendations. Advocates believe many docs don’t understand the severity of DC’s epidemic. Officials plan to use this data to increase routine testing at doctor’s offices.
