Desmond Tutu Praises Change in South African AIDS Policy

Former Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu said that South Africa should no longer be ashamed of its AIDS policies, The Associated Press (AP) reports. Tutu credits Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi and President Jacob Zuma for the country’s HIV prevention, testing and treatment campaigns. The revised strategies follow the departure of a previous health minister who espoused AIDS denialism and promoted beets and garlic as treatment for HIV.
