Clyde Drexler, a former NBA star who played with MagicJohnson, is quoted as trash talking Johnson in a new book, Dream Team, about the 1992 U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team, CBSNews reports. In the book, Drexler says that “everyone was waiting for Magic todie” and that Johnson ultimately received a spot on the Olympic team out ofpity after he revealed he had HIV. Drexler has since said that the quotesattributed to him are “ludicrous” and that he has no idea where author JackMcCallum got them. McCallum has said the quotes are accurate.
