Temporary Fix for Florida ADAP Helps 6,000 People
Florida health officials and AIDS activists have crafted a first-of-its-kind deal to prevent more than 6,000 people from losing their HIV medications, the Sun Sentinel reports. The deal supplies HIV meds donated from pharmaceutical companies to participants of the state’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) who would not have gotten their meds in February and March because of ADAP budget cuts. The Fair Pricing Coalition and the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors helped broker the deal.
