A U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) report alleges that Florida’s Bureau of HIV/AIDS mismanaged its state and federal funds while administering its AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), The Florida Independent reports. According to the HHS, Florida’s ADAP, which provides medicine to low-income citizens with HIV/AIDS, failed to address fiscal concerns about general economic trends raised in previous audits. Now Florida’s ADAP has the longest waiting list in the nation and faces an immense budget deficit.
