Last July, Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) launched an HIV-prevention campaign called “Kiss & Tell” in New York City. The campaign encouraged young black and Latino men who have sex with men (MSM) to have open and loving discussions with their partners about their sexual histories and HIV status. The campaign was developed in part by the members of GMHC’s CLUB1319, a leadership-development program made up of men ages 13 to 19. The youth used the former Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell military policy as an inspiration for the campaign. They wanted a prevention message that would encourage—not discourage—speaking out about same-sex relationships.

The campaign is relaunching this year—just in time for Valentine’s Day. On Saturday, January 21, celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz (of A-List and RuPaul’s Drag Race fame), fashion director and stylist Memsor Kamarake, makeup artist Merrell Hollis, graphic designer Artur Meletin and six sexy spokesmodels came together at Sandbox Studio to capture new promotional materials for the campaign.
