The number of people with HIV in the United Kingdom has reached about 91,500, according to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and reported by Pink News. HPA estimates that a quarter of them are unaware of their status and that nearly 100,000 people in the United Kingdom may be living with the virus by the end of 2011. In addition, statistics show that one in 20 gay men in the country are HIV positive, increasing to one in 11 in London. HPA recommends universal HIV testing.
