There isn’t enough information about the impact HIV/AIDS has on people with disabilities, PlusNews reports. More than 600 million people worldwide are living with disabilities (10 percent of world’s population), and 80 percent of them live in developing countries. They struggle to access sex education and health services, including HIV prevention and education. Studies show that people with disabilities engage in the same sexual behavior as the general population and that women with disabilities are more vulnerable to sexual exploitation and rape. However, there isn’t much more global data about HIV/AIDS and people with disabilities.
