AIDS United Grants $255K for HIV Programs in Puerto Rico
AIDS United has granted more than $255,000 to 10 community-based organizations in Puerto Rico for HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs, according to an AIDS United statement. The grant period runs from January 1 to December 31, 2011. The grantees include: ASPIRA de Puerto Rico, for women and girls; Casa del Peregrino Aguadilla, for homeless people; Casa Joven del Caribe, for syringe exchange; Coai, for men who have sex with men (MSM); Housing Works, for harm reduction; Iniciativa Comunitaria de Investigacion, for at-risk youth and needle exchange; Lucha Contra el SIDA, for women; Migrant Health Center, for syringe exchange; Ministerio En Jehova Seran Provistos SIDA Pediatrico, for rural areas; and Puerto Rico CoNCRA, for young MSM.
