An HIV research forum held April 20 through 23 in Baltimore is offering 150 full scholarships to advocates working in HIV/AIDS or related fields. The event is titled The HIV Research Catalyst Forum: Treatment, Prevention, Advocacy. The deadline for submissions is February 19.

The four-day confab unites HIV advocates and people living with the virus to help shape research advances in HIV treatment and prevention by identifying research priorities and the future barriers. The forum includes symposiums, skill-building workshops, strategy sessions and a town hall to discuss the research components of the national AIDS strategy with representatives from the federal Office of National AIDS Policy, the Office of AIDS Research, the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The scholarships include travel (domestic coach class airfare and limited ground transportation assistance), three nights in a hotel and a daily allowance.
