Funding promised to people with HIV/AIDS in Haiti before the January earthquake has been slow to materialize or not come at all, AFP reports. Various groups rang the alarm at the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna. Since about 90 percent of HIV/AIDS funding in Haiti comes from abroad, the delays have had a severe impact. The January earthquake made matters much worse by disrupting existing programs. Despite the lack of international aid, some nongovernmental organizations are providing care and treatment.
