Listen Up

Hearing loss in people with HIV results from age, race and other risk factors, not the virus.

While HIV causes many problems, hearing loss is apparently not one of them. It’s not known whether poor hearing is more common among positive people than among others, but two large studies recently found that when it occurs, it is not caused by the virus or the meds.
