Illinois Bill to Allow Prosecutors Access to HIV Test Results
The state legislature of Illinois passed a bill that will give prosecutors the right to access the medical test results of defendants charged with knowingly transmitting HIV to another person, StLToday reports. The legislation is being linked to the failure to convict Marcus Taylor, who was charged with knowingly exposing several sexual partners to HIV in 2009. The bill will be sent to Governor Pat Quinn (D–Ill.) for signing.
