Advocates are taking Indonesia to task for its inability to curb the spread of HIV, Reuters reports. Even though HIV prevalence in Indonesia is only 0.2 percent, new HIV cases in the country doubled between 2005 and 2010. Advocates have faced opposition in their attempts to fight the virus through media campaigns in the predominantly Muslim country. Many advocates fear conservatives will accused them of promoting promiscuity. Television ads for condoms are banned in Indonesia, as are ads promoting condoms.
