Iris House Gets Three Federal Grants for HIV/AIDS Programs
Iris House, which is a New York City–based service provider for women and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, has received three federal grants, according to an Iris House statement. A grant from the Office of Women’s Health will go toward Iris House’s efforts to teach African-American and Latino churches in the tri-state area how to do HIV awareness and education work. A grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration will help promote HIV prevention, including expanding services to men. A grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will focus on HIV-positive women and at-risk young women using two evidence-based interventions.
