Iris House, a community-based organization helping women and families deal with HIV/AIDS in New York City, is opening a new outreach center in the South Bronx, according to an Iris House statement. Estimates show more than 23,000 residents of the South Bronx living with HIV, the third highest rate of the city’s 42 neighborhoods. The ribbon cutting ceremony was September 26. The occasion also served as the launch for Iris House’s “Love Your Life, Keep It 100,” a new HIV-prevention social marketing campaign aimed at heterosexual men ages 18 to 24.
