Jackie Lee Houston, a philanthropist and supporter of the Desert AIDS Project (DAP) in Palm Springs, California, died September 14 of pancreatic cancer, according to a DAP statement. She was 76. In 2007, DAP bestowed Houston and her husband Jim with its Partners for Life Award. Houston also supported the Palm Springs AIDS Walk. She also was a supporter of numerous other local nonprofits. A remembrance service will be held 4 P.M., September 23, at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
