The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria hasreceived a $340 million contribution from Japan, making it the country’slargest ever donation, according to a Global Fund statement. This donation is asignificant increase over the last contribution of $246 million in 2010. Japan’s2011 contribution was reduced following the country’s devastating earthquakeand tsunami. The Global Fund’s general manager said the contribution showsJapan’s commitment and dedication to global advances in health.
