Trump's HIV Apprentice

Kiss rocker Gene Simmons is no stranger to combating AIDS: He and his bandmates have endorsed a line of “Kiss Kondoms” (condomania.com, $14.95 a dozen). And in this season’s NBC’s reality series Celebrity Apprentice—in which contestants represented a charity of their choice—Simmons took another jab at the epidemic. He represented the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, a nonprofit AIDS service organization that provides treatment for children living with HIV and works to prevent mother-to-child transmissions.
“Gene Simmons has lent significant support to the foundation,” Suzanne Mink, vice president of development, told POZ. “His concern for children and families affected by HIV/AIDS is much appreciated. We thank him for helping to improve the health of children around the world.”
And help he did. Although Simmons eventually found himself at the receiving end of one of Donald Trump’s infamous firings, Simmons first raised $20,000 for the foundation. Talk about Gene therapy.
