Medical marijuana was on the ballot in three states: Oregon, South Dakota and Arizona. In Oregon, Measure 74 would have expanded the state’s medical marijuana law to establish a system of dispensaries to sell marijuana to registered medical users. It was defeated. In South Dakota, Measure 13 was the second attempt in four years to legalize medical marijuana. It was also defeated. In Arizona, Proposition 203 would legalize medical marijuana, but that election result is still too close to call.
