Tracy Morgan Credits Father’s AIDS Death With Learning About Homophobia

After apologizing for his homophobic remarks, Tracy Morgan has committed to working with the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) to make amends, according to a GLAAD statement. His homophobic comments were made during a recent stand-up comedy show in Nashville, Tennessee. Morgan agreed to meet in New York City with clients of the Ali Forney Center, which helps at-risk LGBT youth. The comedian said his father’s AIDS-related death in 1987 helped him learn about homophobia, prejudice and stigma.

The idea that gay people are "mistakes" echos the "biological error" remark of Dr. Laura. Has it ever occurred to these people that like to speak for imagined deities, that perhaps there are more gay people because the heteros have been a little too "fruitful?" The population of the planet has nearly tripled since I've been around. I hope that Morgan really is sorry for what he said, rather than sorry for the reaction and heat he's receiving.

Personally I have never thought Tracy Morgan was funny or talented could not figure out WHY Tina Fey put him on 30 Rock.

Right, okay, so this justifies the minimization of others like his father? I get it. Self-hate. I pity the fool. I also think he needs to prove his claims concerning his father. People lie so easily in this culture anymore. Would someone like a Weiner-schnizel? I don't see how this moron can survive long in comedy, much less on 30 Rock. It's the same old human behaviors; belittle what we hate and it vanishes from our conscience. Tracy, joke about the 5,000 who wait for ADAP in Florida!
