The National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA) hosted their annual fundraising event the Choose Life Awards Benefit Reception on June 10th at Gotham Hall in New York City. The honorees for the evening included William Lucas the Vice President of Government Affairs/Diversity Programs at PhRMA, Denise Scott the Managing Director from Local Initiatives Support Corporation and George Gresham, President of 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, Grammy Award winner singer/songwriter Estelle could not attend in order to accept her award for her HIV/AIDS work with Virgin Unite.
