NIH Awards $21M to Study Early Response to HIV
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded a $21 million grant to a multi-institutional team to study the early stage immune response to HIV, according to a statement by the Salk Institute. The team brings together 13 different research groups at seven institutions, including the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, to study the cellular protein systems that work as the first defensive response against HIV.
