Obama Seeks Extra $65M for HIV/AIDS in FY2011
The Obama administration has asked Congress for an additional $65 million for HIV/AIDS funding for fiscal year 2011, according to a statement from the White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP). The additional funding breaks down to $35 million for HIV prevention programs and $30 million for AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP), which are administered by states. If approved, this would raise federal ADAP funding to $885 million, a $50 million increase from this year.
