Philadelphia’s Proposed Budget Keeps Level HIV/AIDS Funds
Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s proposed 2012 city budget maintains level HIV/AIDS funding, with some programs seeing increases and others seeing cuts, Philadelphia Gay News reports. Although most departments in the Office of Minority Health in the HIV/AIDS sector will receive about the same funding as in 2011, ACT UP called on the City Council to add an additional $2–4 million for housing for people with HIV/AIDS.
