A new program will require that the Philippine National Police force attend HIV/AIDS awareness seminars, Journal Online reports. The force will also ensure that any members who contract HIV will be provided basic health care benefits and services, confidential counseling and reimbursement of medical expenses. The program aims to promote a nationwide awareness initiative to prevent and control the virus through information, education and communication.
