Church Sues to Stop Sex Ed in the Philippines
The Philippines Department of Education will continue to test a United Nations Population Fund program to teach sex education unless stopped by the courts, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports. The Roman Catholic political party has filed suit against the department stating that sex education classes violate the rights of parents and their religious beliefs. Education officials said they are open to deleting portions of the program the church finds offensive, but will continue the program for now.
