R.E.C. Boyz Center, an HIV/AIDS program for young gay black men in Detroit, was badly damaged by an electrical fire on August 17, PrideSource.com reports. No one was hurt, but the center lost HIV testing supplies, AIDS counseling materials, clothing drive items, office computers and data. The center’s staff is sharing space with its parent organization, AIDS Partnership Michigan, for now. The program is considered one of the best HIV/AIDS programs nationwide targeting young gay black men.
