EJAF Gets $1M Donation From Lily Safra Jewelry Auction

Lily Safra, a Brazilian-Monégasque philanthropist, donated $1 million in June to the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) following an auction of 70 of her rare jewels, according to an EJAF statement. The auction, titled Jewels for Hope: The Collection of Mrs. Lily Safra, was held in May at Christie’s in Geneva, Switzerland. The event raised $32 million with all proceeds being split between 32 charities worldwide.
