Sir Elton John is taking court action against a banker who pledged $1 million to the pop icon’s foundation in a charity auction bid but never paid, The Daily Mirror reports. At a June 2010 gala ball, Spencer Lodge, a Dubai-based banker, produced the highest bid for a day with John and signed a contract. However, Lodge has still not paid the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The Gothic-themed event held at John’s mansion raised more than $7 million to fight HIV/AIDS.
