Stigma leads many people with HIV in Somalia not to disclose they are HIV positive, according to the 2010 country progress report for the U.N. General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS and reported by PlusNews. A 2008 study in Somalia showed that 77 percent of respondents were against HIV-positive people teaching in schools, 85 percent were unwilling to buy food from an HIV-positive food vendor and 25 percent considered people with HIV immoral.
