South African HIV/AIDS Strategy Gets Mixed Review
An official review of South Africa’s HIV/AIDS national strategic plan reveals mixed results, Plus News reports. Released by the South African National AIDS Council, the review shows that condom use and treatment coverage in HIV-positive adults have increased since the plan launched in 2007, but monitoring and evaluation systems have major shortcomings. A new plan is still pending, but the current plan runs until mid-2011.
